So, Ayako by Osamu Tezuka was a really intense and interesting read. It was quite solemn with complicated characters that some might find pretty hard to relate to. There's some pretty hard themes that make this piece quite gritty. I haven't read a manga this intense in a long while- the family is complicated, as well as the main character Ayako. There's many themes of violence, murder and politics that make this manga and over arching story a pretty interesting place to start in terms of Tezuka's work- whom i know better for Unico (one of my favorites and not nearly as harsh.)
